WASH YOUR PRODUCE
All of it, all the time.
That is the mantra when it comes to washing your vegetables and fruits when prepping food.
There is nothing worse than the gritty texture of sand in your mouth that can come from not properly washed ingredients. Maybe you have heard that you shouldn't wash mushrooms because they can absorb some of the water? This is false. Always wash everything, especially mushrooms as they are garaunteed to be dirty.
Rinsing can help wash away pesticides, residual dirt, preserving wax. Simply run under warm water thoroughly and shake to dry. If washing greens, you can use a salad spinner if deemed necessary.
